Giant Tree Kingdom—Ichiu, Tsurugi-cho, Mima-gun

One of the foremost villages with giant trees in Japan. Lots of enormous trees are dotted around.

A giant Japanese hackberry in Akahanetaishi has an 8.7 meter-trunk circumference, and estimated age of the tree is more than 800 years old. Others include a giant Japanese horse chestnut tree in Kuwahira, a Japanese fir tree in Shiroyama Shrine and Japanese red pine tree in Okuono.
