Machi★Asobi

The Anime Event “Machi★Asobi”, which started in a provincial area, has been popular since the first event in 2009. The events are held in Tokushima city center and it features the involvement of the whole town, innovative projects associated with mega-hits and trendy products, and close contact with the guest presenters. The number of participants has been increasing year by year: 82,000 people participated in the 18th “Machi★Asobi” event, held in spring 2017, compared to 12,000 people in the first event.

“Machi★Asobi” event is not all held in the same venue like other events, a few venues are dotted round the town, and participants go around freely and join the activities. Lots of popular voice actors and producers come to the event. The events give participants the opportunity to enjoy the event close to those trendy voice actors and creators, and it attracts lots of anime fans to come the events from all over the country.
