Yusanbako is a three-tiered box that used to be used as a lunch box for leisure in fields and mountains, and Doll’s Festivals.
The oldest ones are from the Edo Period (1603–1868) and every family used to use the box in Tokushima between the Taisho Period and before World War II (approx. 1912–1940).
The high skills and design used for Yusanbako currently draw attention for its use as interior decoration.
