We have received countless requests for consultation from people who have received solicitations to invest in crypto assets or foreign currency exchange from people they have met on social networking services or dating apps, sometimes even impersonating celebrities. However, after transferring funds to the designated account, they could no longer contact the person concerned, or when they tried to withdraw money because the transaction screen showed that they were making a profit, they were charged high taxes and fees and were unable to make the withdrawal.
SNSやマッチングアプリ等で知り合った人や、著名人を騙るSNSの広告を通じて暗号資産やFX投資などの勧誘を受け、指定された個人名義の口座に振込んだところ、「相手と連絡が取れなくなった」、「取引画面では儲かっていたので出金しようとしたところ、高額な税金や手数料を請求され出金できない」といった相談が後を絶ちません。
This is a trick that leads a person to an investment app or website through a social networking service. They are made to trust it because it appears as if profits are being generated on the trading screen of the app. However, the screen displayed is fictitious, and no actual transactions have been made. Furthermore, it is difficult to recover damages if you are unable to contact the counterparty to ask for a refund.
これは、SNSを通じて投資アプリやサイトなどに誘導し、アプリ等の取引画面上で利益が出ているように見せかけ、信用させる手口です。しかし、表示されている画面は架空のもので、実際の取引は行われていません。返金を求めるにも相手と連絡が取れなければ被害の回復は困難です。
There is no such thing as a ”sure-fire” deal. If you receive a solicitation for investment from someone you do not know, do not believe what they tell you, and be suspicious of a scam. If you have any concerns, please contact your local government Consumer Affairs Center.
