Don’t be too quick to believe information on the Internet!

If using a smartphone, not a day goes by that you don’t see an Internet advertisement. Advertisements emphasizing cheap prices, ease of use, and benefits appear one after another.

Words such as “special trial price,” “free trial,” and “monitor (free or discounted price in exchange of feedback)” stand out in advertisements for cosmetics, health foods, and beauty treatments, while advertisements for side jobs (money-making) often say “fast and easy money,” “high rewards without doing anything,” “no experience required,” and so on. When you contact these businesses for such side jobs, you may be aggressively solicited and end up signing an expensive contract. Also, be aware that there are cases where expensive products and get-rich-quick schemes are introduced on social networking sites under the guise of word-of-mouth communication without taking the form of advertisements.

　化粧品、健康食品、エステなどの広告では「お試し特別価格」、「無料体験」、「モニター」などの言葉が目立ち、副業（金儲け）に関する広告では「短時間で簡単に稼ぐ」、「何もしなくても高額報酬」、「未経験者OK」などとさかんに書かれています。このような副業は、相手に連絡をすると強引な勧誘を受け、高額な契約を結んでしまうことがあります。また、広告の形をとらずにクチコミをよそおって、SNS上に高額な商品や儲け話が紹介されていることもあるので、十分な注意が必要です。

Even if it seems inexpensive and easy at first, there are always problems such as expensive subscription contracts, long-term contracts for beauty treatment, and high initial investments in most likely unprofitable schemes. It is dangerous to blindly believe information on the Internet (regarding get-rich-quick schemes, etc). Please always exercise caution.

　最初は安価で手軽に思えても、高額な定期購入契約、長期のエステ契約、儲かりもしない話に高額な初期投資をしてしまうなど、トラブルが絶えません。インターネットの情報に無防備に飛びつくのは危険です。くれぐれも慎重さを心がけてください。
