The Tokushima Marathon is held in spring every year and many people also enjoy jogging in the morning and evening.
Tokushima Prefecture is the home ground of the Tokushima Vortis, Shikoku’s first professional soccer team.
Exchanges with the region and other activities are carried out extensively during the season and the off season as well.

The Tokushima Marathon is an annualspring event and more than 10,000 runner sparticipate in this mar athon every year.
This marathon has a 7 hour limit and participants can enjoy the view of the Yoshino River and Mt. Bizan as the y run.
“Tokushima Indigo Socks,” a team belonging to a professional independent baseball league ”Shik oku Island League plus” and “Tokushima Vortis,“ a soccer club belonging to the Japan Pr ofessional Football League (J. League) ar e both based in Tokushima. Stadiums are always crowded with both local and out of pr efecture supporters.
The Oboke and Koboke Gorges, located in the upper reaches of the Yoshino River are famous for their rapids and is a popular r afting area. Rafters in rubber boats go down the river at high speed lik e a roller coaster.
With many great surfing locations, southern Tokushima is visited b y both local surf ers and surfers from the Kansai and Kanto r egions throughout the year.
The ocean off the coast of Mugi-cho, located in the southern part of the pr efecture, is designated as the Muroto-Anan Kaigan Quasi-National Park. Various marine creatures living in the temper ate and subtropical zones and colorful cor al decorate the sea in this ar ea.
