The view from the Shiofuki rest spot.
It is recommended to have lunch here while looking at the ocean.
Cape Kanokubi juts into the Pacific Ocean and the reefs surrounding the peninsula are excellent rock fishing spots.
In the middle of the roadway, the ocean peeks out in the distance through a break in the mountains.
Not long after passing the Shiofuki rest spot and entering the mountain path, there is a bench with a view of the ocean through the trees.
The scenery gives a sense of the peaceful air that flows through the fishing village.
The Shiofuki Iwa is composed of two oddly shaped rocks that can be seen below the rest spot. At high tide, seawater blows up from the rocks.
From the town of Abu, a short walk along a mountain road leads to the sign for Cape Kanokubi. The cape is lined with trees, and the whitecaps of the Kuroshio Current create a refreshing atmosphere. At the tip of the cape are the ruins of Noroshiba, which in ancient times served as a point of communication with other areas. Continue for a while and you will reach the rest spot of Shiofuki. Below you, the waves crash against Shiofukiiwa, which is made up of two rocks, and at high tide, the seawater rises about 10 m. As there are no toilets for a while, it is recommended that you use the toilets here. Once in the village, visitors can enjoy walking along the mountain path while listening to the sound of the waves. After descending the mountain, you will reach a small fishing village and then, after passing through an area of private houses, follow the road to the finishing point, which is just around the corner.
