The shrine was built in connection with the cremation mound. Walking along Prefectural Route 12, turn left before the Ikenotani Tunnel to Amanokawawake Shrine. Behind the shrine is a group of burial mounds dating from the first half of the fourth century. Storks also fly over the nearby wetlands.
At the temple and near the mountain, wild birds such as the daurian redstart, rustic bunting, and black-faced bunting can be seen in winter, and the meadow bunting,Japanese bush warbler, and Chinese-bamboo partridge can be seen in summer.
